Hi Everyone,
I hope you enjoyed part one of our Sisters Oregon trip here are some more pictures to tease you with. This group of quilts were all made by a book club. This past year they read the original Peter Pan and Wendy by J.M. Barrie. They then decided to make stunning quilts inspired by scenes from the book. I can't even begin to tell you how totally incredible these quilts were. The quilt below had to be at least 50" x 60" all machine appliqued, thread painted and quilted. You could have stood there all day and not scene all the details.
Don't you love when Peter gives Wendy a "kiss" aka thimble. Look at the quilting in the background....incredible! |
This is the Mermaid scene from the book, again absolutely stunning. The hours of work that went into these projects, I can't even begin to imagine. |
Close up of the quilting on the Mermaids. |
Do you feel like you have been to Neverland..."second star to the right and straight on till morning."
